Post a Tribute

Sam Moi Ho, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on June 30, 2026.

Born in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia on August 22, 1949, Sam was the fourth of eleven children. She was baptized in the Christian tradition in her youth, and her faith grew hand-in-hand with the profound love she held for her family and friends.

In the late autumn of 1989, Sam immigrated to Edmonton, Canada.  She faced the cold Albertan winters, dramatic culture shock, and the trials of financial uncertainty, but her characteristic resilience never wavered. Instead, she chose to face life with patience, gentleness, overflowing love, and generosity. As a faithful disciple of Our Lord Jesus, she was selfless, honest, and amicable in quiet ways. she always made an effort to befriend others, bringing smiles and laughter wherever she went.

Sam had a particularly green thumb, especially talented at growing vibrant flowers and vegetables in her gardens. In a similar way, she nurtured and guided her children and grandchildren with care. In her later years, she battled numerous health problems, including Alzheimer’s and a rare immunodeficiency syndrome. In spite of these challenges, her love and her faith were not compromised, even until the very end.

Sam is survived by her husband, Yaw Kim (Frank) Ng; her children, Kosoo, Caezer, and Soo; her grandchildren, Tobias and Elias; as well as five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews living overseas. While she will be dearly missed by her loved ones on Earth, we will surely see her again, renewed and restored to perfection through our Lord Jesus Christ.

" I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

My heart goes out to your whole family. Although I've only met Mrs. Ng a few times, I do remember her warm smile, and the stories you've shared about her. I could tell you all loved her dearly. I hope your shared faith and memories will sustain you through this challenging time. Psalm 100: "For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations."
