Remembering Salvatore Dardano
Salvatore Dardano, a man whose spirit was as resilient as the roots of the trees he so loved, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2025, in Delta, BC, at the age of 99.
Born on March 9th, 1926, in Albi, Italy, Salvatore lived a life marked by courage, hard work, and an enduring devotion to his family. He bravely came to Canada in 1952, beginning a new chapter that would eventually see him establish a beautiful family in Vancouver, BC.
Salvatore's life was a testament to his own motto: "I'm small but tough." His toughness carried him through incredible challenges, including surviving a plane crash in 1957 and twice beating cancer, in 1993 and again in 2018. He successfully navigated the difficulty of leaving part of his family behind in Italy while building a new life and home in Canada.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Salvatore will be remembered as a man who grew and flourished through his dexterity in several trades, mastering them all. He was a constant source of support for his family and found great delight in helping others in his community.
His true passion, however, lay in his garden. Salvatore loved gardening to the core of his being, a love beautifully mirrored in the scripture he cherished: "That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers" (Psalm 1:3).
Salvatore is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Giuseppina.
He will be deeply missed by his son, Giuseppe, and his wife, Cheri-Lynn, and their children, Gabriella, Nathanael, and Daniella.
He is also survived by his daughter, Maria, and her husband, Ross, and their sons, Alexander and Tomas.
Salvatore leaves behind his sisters, Ortenzia and Angelina, and his brother Edmondo(Emilia), along with many beloved nephews and nieces who will carry his memory in their hearts.
His family reflects on his legacy with deep pride: If we who knew him and loved him and were loved by him can accomplish a fraction of the good things he did for others, we can stand proud that we lived a good life.
Arrivederci Salvatore, till we meet again in Eternity.
Funeral Mass Thur. Nov. 13th at 12pm.

Salvatore was a very kind , gentle & loving man. He was also a real survivor and a great card player. I will always remember the many wonderful christmas & other celebrations that we shared over the years, as it reminded me of the ones I shared with my parents growing up. He married a beautiful lady and created a beautiful & caring family along with wonderful grandkids. I am sure he is very proud of all of them. May God bless him and all his family always. Love The Grande's

Even though miles often separated us, family has no distance. Salvatore had a way of bringing warmth into every moment, even from afar. I’ll always cherish the memories we shared and the love that stayed constant no matter how far apart we were. Rest peacefully, Salvatore you’ll forever hold a place in our heart
