In Loving Memory of Ryan Paul Amyot 

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Ryan Paul Amyot, who left us far too soon on August 10, 2026, at the age of 38. 

Ryan was born on January 9, 1988, in Langley, British Columbia, and spent most of his formative years in Flin Flon, Manitoba, a place that became an important part of his life. It was there that he formed many lifelong friendships and created countless cherished memories through his love of hockey, fishing, snowmobiling, and the great outdoors. Ryan graduated from Hapnot Collegiate in 2006. 

In 2021, Ryan returned to Langley, where he spent the remaining years of his life. Throughout his life, he worked in various construction and kitchen jobs, always finding his own way and making connections with the people he met along the way. 

Ryan had a kind and gentle soul. He was caring, compassionate, and had a special love for nature and all living things—even the smallest of creatures. Animals held a special place in his heart, and he adored his cats, Simon and George, as well as the family cats Mouser and Zoey. 

Ryan found happiness in the simple things. He enjoyed gardening, walks in nature, and spending time outdoors. In recent years, he took great pride in growing tomatoes and strawberries on the back deck, watching them grow and caring for them with patience and pride. 

Sports were one of Ryan’s greatest passions. He especially loved ice hockey and baseball, and in more recent years, ball hockey. He loved sports of all kinds and had an incredible ability to recall countless statistics, players, and moments from hockey and baseball. His knowledge and enthusiasm were something those around him will always remember. 

Ryan also enjoyed playing video games, watching Netflix, collecting hockey cards and listening to music. His favorite bands were Iron Maiden and Eminem.   

Ryan will be remembered not only for the things he loved, but for the person he was—a gentle soul who cared deeply, found wonder in nature, loved animals, and treasured the people and simple pleasures that brought meaning to his life. 

Ryan was predeceased by his sister, Melissa Amyot; his nephew, Aidan Amyot; and his father, Paul Amyot. 

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Dawn Hammond; stepfather, Kim Cowie; sister, Adrianna Amyot; as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. 

Ryan leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever. His kindness, passions, and the many good times shared with him will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. 

Though his time with us was far too short, Ryan’s memory will live on in all who knew and loved him. May he rest peacefully, surrounded by the beauty of the nature he loved, the animals he cherished, the music that brought him joy, and the memories of all the good times he shared with those around him. 

A private celebration of Ryan’s life will be announced at a later date.
