It is with immense sadness we announce the passing of Rosemary Burns, age 80, in the late hours of July 18th. She is predeceased by her father Ken Nash and mother Anna Nash of Squamish. She is survived by her husband Robert (married 60 years); children Lori, Roberta (Robert) and Kenn; grandchildren Jesse and Keith; and great-grandchild Levi.

Rosemary was a creative, clever lady who spent her time taking care of family with their various activities and adventures. Not many people knew her success as a young competitive swimmer, but anyone who saw Rosemary and Bob together knew she was a very talented and joyful dancer.  She was never happier, however, than when she was working on crafts and projects keeping her home and garden beautiful for her family and guests to enjoy. Rosemary also worked for a number of years as an administrative assistant with the Langley school district, until retirement.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff and ‘Dr G’ at Seton Villa for their care of Rosemary.  A service will be held at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, 11969 216 Street, on Saturday, July 29 at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a favourite charity of your choice.

Rosemary was such a dear sweet soul to me. We had a very unique relationship in that I was just a teenager when we first met. I was dating Kenn for a brief time in college and met and fell in love with his family immediately. She had invited me over for dinner a few times before Kenn left for boot camp and when he left, a few short months into our relationship she asked if I would still join them for dinner once in awhile. Well, I don't know how many dinners we had together but it was a lot! We had dinner and chatted about life afterwards for hours. Over time I shared things with Rosemary that I had never told anyone before, and she always had a listening ear for me. Her impact on my life was immeasurable and even though my relationship with Kenn didn't work rosemary and I remained pen pals for years. She would always tell me how delighted she was to receive a letter from me. I can't say enough how loved and appreciated she made me feel. I pray for peace and comfort for her entire family, and all those that knew her. With love, Sherry

I so love this photo.
Thank you for being such a warm and welcoming mom. I have great memories of your laugh, and how you listened so well as we likely babbled your ears off as excited teenagers.
To the Family : my sincerest condolences for your loss. May your memories be with you always and comfort you when you miss her.

Dear Lori,

I was so sad and shocked to hear about the sudden passing of your lovely mother. We were only able to share a short amount of time with her at Seton Villa but she and her smiling face will be missed.

Laura
