Ronald Bruce Gill, 85, of Langley, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025 following a brief illness. Ron was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by his loving wife, Jane Gill, with whom he spent 48 wonderful years, daughters Penny Bevins (Andy) and Brenda Salamandyk (Dennis), stepson Gavin Murgatroyd (Jane), five grandchildren, Daniel Salamandyk, Logan Bevins, Cameron Murgatroyd, Nicholas Murgatroyd and Olive Murgatroyd, two great granddaughters, Lilah and Reese Salamandyk, and brother Al Gill and sister Gwen Reilly.

Ron was born in Saint Boniface, Manitoba on November 16, 1939. His life was a celebration of hard work from his childhood on the family farm to the day he retired from a successful career in the menswear industry at the tender age of 80. He was an avid sailor for many years and enjoyed spending time working on his property, making it beautiful for all who visited. He enjoyed yearly trips to Maui and walking the beach before dinner at Humu Humu in the Grand Wailea Hotel, where he and Jayne were finally married in 1995. Ron was at his happiest when pouring his heart and soul into a great meal for friends or family to enjoy, providing they helped with some yard work or taking down the occasional beaver dam first.

Ron will continue to serve as a shining example of what one can achieve if they are willing to work for it. It will now be the responsibility of all those who knew and loved Ron to continue where he left off. While Ron will be greatly missed, his impact on the lives of his family and friends will continue to live on.

At this time, no services are planned.

Dear Jane; It was so very sad to hear about Ron's passing and Max and I extend our deepest condolences to you and your family. It has been far too many years for cousins not to be in touch and I would welcome the opportunity to see you. Robert Dean (roberttdean@gmail.com)

My deepest condolence to Jane at this difficult time, may the many good memories of Ron and the time shared together over the years provide you with the strength to carry on.
Over the thirty years I had known Ron, he was always a gentleman and fun to work with while doing business with him and Jane.
Thank you for your kind hospitality, may you rest in peace Ron.

For the last 26 years I have been fortunate to be your son in law and will be forever grateful for that time. Thank you for trusting me with your daughter and being an incredible grandpa to our son. From the first time I met you 28 years ago as a college kid from another country with no job yet, you showed me nothing but kindness. Please know I will never forget that and will do everything I can to make sure Penny and Logan are taken care of. Rest easy Ron, you’ve earned it.

I am so very sorry to hear about Ron’s passing! I have not seen Ron or Jane in many years and last visited them at their beautiful home in Langley as a kid. The one thing that has always stuck with me was Ron’s fabulous, infectious smile. I am certain that smile will live on in everyone’s hearts. May your wonderful memories of him return the smiles to your hearts and faces soon. Much love to Penny, Jane, Gavin and the family.
