It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Renee. She passed away suddenly at home as a result of an on-going illness.
She is survived by her husband David McClure, brother Trent Wilkins, Uncle Francis Glynn, (Annette), Aunt Audrey Glynn, Marilyn Rougier (who was like a second mom) along with numerous cousins and their families.
Renee grew up in Victoria, moving to Vancouver in the early 80’s where she met and married her husband, David McClure. Together they created a beautiful life in their Boundary Bay Cottage, where family and friends were always welcome. She built a successful career with Investors Group, providing wealth management to her many clients until her retirement.
Renee was an accomplished artist whose creative passions were expressed through her love of watercolour painting, calligraphy, cooking, gardening, singing in the local choir, dancing and playing her baby grand piano for everyone’s enjoyment. Her love of travel took her to many places around the world. She loved swimming in the ocean and taking long beach walks with Rebus, the family Cairn Terrier.
Renee’s devotion to making holistic lifestyle choices to nourish her mind, body and soul were an inspiration.
Rest in peace, Renee. You will remain forever in our hearts, dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Society.

Renee was one of my first bosses at investors group. She was my first female boss and inspired me in so many ways. Her care free nature and her ability to connect with just about anyone always left me in awe. She touched my life in so many ways and instilled such a fearless confidence that I will always carry with me. Thank you Renee for all your love and support! Rest well and soar high

Classic over protective big brother in the early years. Experience empty nest, in her teens years. Bless to have Rougier family in her life. Proud of Renee for braking the Wilkins record; for long marriage & career choices, Congratulations. I’m proud of what you have done!
Untimely death was a rude awakening.
“Make the best of the day you have, tomorrow is a gift.”
Miss you, love you, Lost a big chunk of my broken heart. RIP, PS Lost & Found.

Our deepest sympathy to David, extended family and friends.
I met Renee via the Westcoast Calligraphy Society and I loved working with her on the executive during her tenure as President. Howard and I shared some wonderful times together. Renee, Shannonand I spent a memorable weekend together taking a watercolour workshop with Jean Haines when she came to BC. She joined our Paint n Play group here in South Surrey where she shared her love of watercolour, zest for life, lots of Prosecco and of course friendship. She was lovely, talented, enthusiasic, generous, gracious, kind and she always focused on the positive. She will be sorely missed.

We first met Renee when David brought her to Scotland to get married on The Isle of Skye. She was beautiful, talented, caring and so much fun to be with. We had some great games of Scrabble!
We have spent wonderful holidays together on both sides of the Atlantic where unforgettable memories were made.
We will miss you so much Renee. You will always be remembered with love.

Renée was one of my best friends. When she met me at her first ever calligraphy workshop decades ago we hit it off immediately…from then onward we could always be found side by side as we learned from a vast variety of instructors & when Co-Vid hit, we’d see ea other on zoom classes. She belonged to 2 guilds, Alphabeas & Westcoast Calligrapy Society & served as the WCS president for 2 terms. Man, could that woman whistle loud when a meeting or class was due to resume! She was also a valued member of our paint’n’play watercolour group of 6 who met every 2nd Fri…she was always the first of us to arrive & mid-June was the last time she felt well enough to attend. Her watercolours were amazing, often whimsical & always vibrant…she especially loved using her lime green & orange pigments. I have a painting of 2 hummingbirds she made for me which I will always treasure. We would meet for play dates at my place (& sometimes hers) & thrived on getting inspiration & feedback from each other…I will miss not doing our annual Xmas cards together…for 2024 she had the rest of her 12 Days of Xmas completed.
One of my favourite memories is our “Girlfriend Weekend Getaway” in TaNaMara about 7 yrs ago…spa treatments, walks on the beach, long conversations, laughter, & art.
Renée was genuine, spiritual, holistic, artistic, kind, generous, empathetic, enthusiastic, hardy, positive, & loving. She was easy to love & I sorely miss her.
White light, pure love, my dear friend. Soar high.

Renee, was one of those people you felt drawn to. She lit up the room with her enthusiasm, laughter, song and as our President her shrill Whistle. (That meant take your seats people, the meeting is starting.) Although , I didn't socialize with Renee away from Calligraphy events, whenever we met it was easy to fall into conversation. She was both interesting and interested. I'm so sorry I didn't know Renee was ill. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy David, Trent as well as extended family and close friends. When I think of Renee it will be the thought that I am a better person for the short encounters I had with such an amazing lady.
Blessings

Renee was truly one of a kind. The sweetest most genuine, and giving person you could ever be blessed to be in the company off. The last time I saw her in person was when she was having g treatments in kelowna. We had a wonderful visit as if the years between being at the farm in Beaver lake, and spending time at our farm in Kelowna were melted away. Such was Renee. We shared a wonderful meal, and conversations covering decades of experiences from the most serious to the hilarious. Mostly laughter. With Renee even messages or texts, or , phone conversation always felt like the conversation had simply continued, even though years may have past.
Truly I will miss my cousin Renee, the rest of my life on this earth. Love you Renee, be with the angels, as I believe you are one now.

Not only was Renee my Aunt but she was a great friend. I loved her energetic, positive, fun personality. One of the last memories I have of her was when we went down the Malahat Skywalk spiral slide, she was just so much fun.
Renee was a great host and cook. Whenever we came to stay we knew we were going to get fed well and well looked after. Even though I didn't see her very often we kept in touch on WhatsApp, which was always quite amusing!
Renee was so creative and a great artist, I will miss her beautiful cards.
I am going to miss her and her chats so much, she has left a huge void in my life but I am so glad I had the privilege of being part of her life.
R.I.P beautiful lady, you will never be forgotten.
All our love Fiona & Dino ❤❤

My only wish is that I had seen the opportunity to tell you properly, in life, how your generosity
and caring for my family made all our occasions and gatherings more special. You simply blended
yourself in with us early on through friendship and we were so much better for it. You had the “best” laugh.
Special dinners, those original art cards, travels together, parties with invitations to bring your instrument to jam,
and always inviting Nina’s Mom along, who you treated as your own.
You were a spark Rene. And I am truly thankful you enriched all of our lives.
Nina, Will, Lauren and I can take all that kindness and remember to pay it forward.
You are deeply missed. ❤️
