With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Marion Mei Kuen Ho, who passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026 at the age of 97.

Marion was born in Swatow, China on August 16, 1929.  She was the eldest of 5 siblings and lost her father at a young age.  Through World War II, she fled from city to city in China.  She eventually settled in Hong Kong, where she married Benjamin in 1954.  Together with their 4 children, they immigrated to Vancouver in 1972.  Marion worked as a nurse’s aid, and later, as a hairdresser.

Marion was the life of the party:  animated and vivacious, with her ear-to-ear smile and contagious belly laugh.  Her outgoing, gregarious personality made it easy for her to socialize and spark conversations in any scenario.  She lit up the room with her charm, magnetism, playfulness, and capacity to make friends of all ages.  The dance floor was Marion’s element, as evidenced at her grandchildren’s weddings!  She also dressed the part, with a penchant for vibrant, sparkling outfits and accessories.

Marion loved music, dancing, singing, karaoke, and traveling.  She could often be found playing mah jong, watching her favourite Chinese dramas and cooking shows, and listening to music.  She was a talented cook who enjoyed both preparing her signature Chinese dishes and testing new recipes.  The dinners she hosted, where she spent hours in the kitchen cooking up a feast for her family, are core memories for her children and grandchildren.  She also appreciated a good meal, especially accompanied by a glass of wine.

Marion was resilient, fearless, and independent, surviving the hardships of her childhood, and later, the Covid years alone in her apartment.  She loved learning new things and adapted to every challenge in stride.  Her strength and energy were admired by all who had the honour of knowing her.

Marion remains lovingly cherished by her 4 children (Regina, Vincent, George, Anna), 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.  She will be forever missed.  We find comfort knowing that she lived a fulfilled life and is now at peace, home with God the Father, and reunited with her beloved husband.
