Post a Tribute

Born July 22, 1943 passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026 in White Rock BC.

Finally free, her mind and body restored after living with Alzheimer’s disease for many years.
Daughter of Nora and Michael Miller (deceased). Dearly missed by her daughter’s Natalie Mitchell, Rosanne Jessup (Blair) grandchildren, Rhys Godin, Logan and Laila Jessup.

She is lovingly remembered by David Amot, Resty Katende and their families whom she welcomed into her life as her own children, offering them guidance, care, and a mother’s love.

Marilyn was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was her family. Even as her memory faded away her face still lit up with smiles and laughter at the sight of her loved ones.

Marilyn enjoyed her community and neighbours, living for 50 years in Peterborough, Ontario.
Before she moved to BC to be with her girls she devoted many years to working with the Red Cross. She had a lifelong commitment to helping others, especially the elderly and those who were lonely or in need of companionship. She sang for over 30 years in the St. Anne’s Church Choir and volunteered in care homes, visiting residents and assisting with chapel services. Music was always close to her heart and brought her great joy throughout her life.  Marilyn also spent 15 years of service in the Legion of Mary.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A heartfelt thank you to Barbara Emery, a very special person in Marilyn’s life. Barbara was a wonderful care companion to our mom. She devoted years of care and friendship as she supported Marilyn and her family through her journey with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Thank you as well to the amazing care staff at Evergreen Baptist Society.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date in Peterborough Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.  Please click HERE

Roseanne Natalie, Blair, and your family, we are thinking of you all at this time of loss. So sorry to hear the news. Your mom was a caring and loving person, who we remember with fondness as a wonderful neighbour for decades here in Peterborough. She was always thoughtful and kind. Marilyn was my first cousin. She lived next door to me for the first 5 years of my life in Ancaster, Ontario. We were both single children. She was and always had been like a big sister to me.
There was 10 years difference in age between us. I was so upset when I found out that they were moving to Windsor, because her father was being transferred for his job.
A few years later Marilyn and her parents moved to Etobicoke. I was able to spend some sleep over trips with her during that time.
I still remember one of the sleepovers. Marilyn had a dog named Cookie.
We both slept in the same bed with Cookie fast asleep at the end of the bed, and snoring up a storm.
Marilyn and I never got any sleep that night.
Then Marilyn met and married her husband Wayne and moved to Peterborough, and had two lovely daughters. Roseanne and Natalie.
Marilyn and I would have like two
hour conversation on the phone when she lived in Peterborough. We would laugh and talk about everything until our ears hurt from holding the phone.
I miss you so much Marilyn, but you have been through so much these last years.
You are finally at peace.
We will catch up again in Heaven.
