Marie Elaine Collison passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2026, in Port Moody, BC at the age of 87. She was born on July 12, 1938, in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Marie’s unwavering love and support were a constant blessing to her family. She is survived by her beloved daughter Maria, grandson Benjamin, son-in-law Gavin, sister Jocelyn and family, sister Irma and family, cousins, nieces, grandnieces, nephews, and grandnephews. Her daughter and grandson were her greatest joys. She was a loving and steady source of encouragement for Benjamin, always supporting him in his schooling and in all his athletic pursuits.
Marie’s early years were shaped by her parents, her schooling at St. Joseph's Convent, and her enduring devotion to the Lord and the Catholic Church. Marie’s humble and hard-working nature, combined with her attention to detail, thoughtful courtesy, and genuine service to others, laid the foundation for a long and dedicated career at the Bank of B.C. (later HSBC), spanning over three decades. She travelled all over the world and had special memories of the pilgrimages she took with fellow parishioners. She enjoyed painting, cooking, reading, hearing the birds sing, doing her daily crossword, and playing Scrabble. Her deepest devotion, however, was to her faith and to the love she held for her family.
Marie possessed a natural balance of sociability and quiet reserve, carrying herself with timeless grace. Her gentle reassurance and comforting presence uplifted those around her, bringing a calm and enduring sense of peace. Marie's generosity, kindness, and empathy touched the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished always. May she rest in eternal peace.
