Frances Robinson, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 31, 2024 in Langley, BC.

Frances was born in Sri Lanka and attended Holy Family Convent, graduating in 1963. She was an avid reader and had an affinity for romance novels. Favorite pastimes also included playing badminton, carrom and cards with friends and relatives.

She met the love of her life, Winston, in 1962 and after a short courtship they were married in 1964. In 1973, Winston and Frances, along with their young family, immigrated to Canada.

Frances had many talents, one of them being an excellent piano player and teacher. She taught many students throughout her piano teaching career, including her children and grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and was the church organist at St. Andrew’s Parish in Vancouver for over 20 years.

Frances had a love for playing bingo and going to Vegas when she was able to. Frances also loved sewing, crafting and was an incredible cook and baker. Many benefited from the latter, as she would send baked goods to all during the holidays. It was truly a highlight of the season.

Frances’s greatest joy in life was her family. Her main focus was to be the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to be surrounded by family and never ran out of love to share, no matter how the family continued to expand.

Frances is survived by her husband, Winston, 7 children: Anne-Marie, Rodney, Brevil, Sherryle, Steeve, Rachel and Adrienne and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandsons and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Frances touched the hearts of many with her kindness, sense of humor and generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Langley Hospice at https://langleyhospice.ca.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Langley, BC. (20676 Fraser Hwy, Langley)

Our deepest sympathies Winston and all the family. As you know, we never did meet Frances but connection with the family was never lost as our steady contact with Winston, Adrienne and family we knew of her love for the family. We knew of her health battles over the years. A great loss to the family, but now safe in the loving, caring arms of our Lord, she is free of all the pain and strife of this world. May her love for the family continue in your memories, treasured and unabated. We as a family are united in our condolences to all of Winston's family.
