It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Gordon Harrison at the age of 76 years, on January 29th, 2023, in Langley, BC.  Ron was born to Thomas and Agnes (nee Connelly) in Elk Point, Alberta in 1946. Ron dedicated his life, almost 40 years, to public service. Commencing his career with North Battleford Police in 1968, then Estevan Police. Afterwards, he joined the RCMP, graduating with Troop 19 (1971/1972). Ron served his RCMP career in ‘E’ Division in BC, where he made lifelong friends across the world. Public service was his life’s calling since he was a child, and we as a family are fiercely proud of him and all that he accomplished.

Ron is survived by his wife Marlene and two children, Kyle (Kayla) and Megan. Ron is also survived by his two grandchildren Averi and Joshua, and his sisters Kathleen (Terrence) and Betty, and brother Dennis (Diane). Ron was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Agnes, and his brother Robert, sister Shirley.

Ron was an avid hockey fan and could always be found sitting in his chair watching it on TV. When his favourite team wasn’t playing, he would always be rooting for the underdog. Ron enjoyed his daily walks, stopping to chat to all the Neighbours, and make friends with all the dogs in the park. One would never go hungry at the Harrison household. Ron was well revered for his famous oversized BBQ burgers and his marinated salmon. Ron spent many enjoyable trips hunting and fishing with his nephew Jim and family friend Cam. He always had a smile on his face if he was on a boat with a fishing rod in his hands, and a toothpick in his mouth. Ron was always willing to drop everything at a moment’s notice to help family or friends and will be truly and deeply missed by all that knew him.

Ron’s family will host a celebration of life on April 8th, 2023, between 1:00PM and 4:00PM at the Fort Langley Golf Club located at 9782 McKinnon Crescent, Langley B.C. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon in Ron’s name.
