Daniel Wolfgang Zeller passed away peacefully in the evening of January 16, 2024, at the age of 86, attended by his wife Nancy and sons Jacob and Joseph.
Dan was born June 9, 1937 in Berlin, Germany to Max and Leonore Zeller. They emigrated to the United States to escape the Nazi regime and ultimately settled in Los Angeles where his younger siblings, Jacqueline and David, were born.
In Los Angeles, Dan met Nancy, whom he married in 1970, and together they lived in Topanga Canyon, CA with their sons, until moving north to Langley, BC Canada in 1989. With his Jungian background, Dan practiced sandplay and educational therapy. Throughout his career as a clinical counselor he helped, and touched many lives, both young and old.
Dan’s love for animals was prevalent, beginning with his first cat Li Ming, through the latest cat Suki, with many ducks, goats, cats, and dogs in between. He loved listening to music, making music, cooking (especially pizza), tai chi, woodworking, storytelling, poker, and other games.
Dan lived his life his way and will be missed by family and friends alike. May his memory be a blessing.

An Irish Blessing to Dan
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rains fall soft upon your fields
‘Til we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
With much love, nancy

I had been thinking about Dan recently as I drove up 216, now I know why. I met Dan 30 years ago at a conference and I was drawn to his gentle demeanour, self-effacing, and open curiosity. He studied with some some of the greats of our field, Like Rogers of unconditional positive regard, and Dan embodied that always. In the world of evidence based practice he struggled to name what he did so effectively - meet clients were they were at, caring, mindful and kind and helping them bring about the changes they needed through processing feelings safely. Good-by Dan. Your kind spirit blessed many.

Dan was the best big brother. He taught David and me about folk music, fishing, hiking and love of animals. He was the best and I miss him. His memory IS a blessing.
