Arbutus Funeral Service is a funeral home located in Langley, British Columbia. Langley has a long and rich history. The Township is a district to the east of the City of Surrey in southwest British Columbia, Canada. Langley extends southward from the Fraser River to the U.S. border and west of the City of Abbotsford. Langley Township shouldn’t be confused with the adjacent City of Langley. This is very close to the township but is a politically separate entity. Langley is located in Metro Vancouver's eastern region.

The township of Langley was established in 1873, however, it split administratively later in 1955. It was when the city was incorporated separately as a separate enclave in the township’s western side. Both of these are now Vancouver metropolitan area suburbs.

The city has a much larger industrial base economically (primarily light manufacturing), and there are agricultural interests of significance in the township. Both these communities have very well-developed service sectors. The story of the Township of Langley is a varied and rich narrative involving various activities and cultures.

Starting from its First Nations origins right through European settlement and the well-known Hudson’s Bay Company era, Langley continues to play a role in national and provincial consolidation. It made significant contributions to agriculture, resources, and trade within the region. It has evolved as a community with a legacy of places and traditions that continue to be the basis of local pride even today.
