Attending a funeral can be scary for some people and other people may be a nervous wreck. This is especially true if they have not attended a funeral before. What Not to Do at a Funeral

There are several things that you will want to avoid doing while at a funeral. These include:

• Do not answer your cell phone
• Do not text or use Facebook during the funeral, avoid taking pictures with your cell
• Do not ask about who is getting what of the late person’s personal items
• Do not ask about the cause of death. If you need to know, someone will let you know.

What You Should Do at a Funeral

Here are the things that you can do and are often appreciated:

• Express your sympathy to those who have lost their family member
• Share your memories about the deceased, something that is funny or showcases the person in a great light is the best option.
• Offer the family member help or assistance in dealing with anything that they may need.
• Bring a gift of food to the family as they are probably busy with all the arrangements that are being made.
• Be sure to dress appropriately when attending the funeral and the visitation.
• You can send a gift of sympathy such as flowers to the funeral home that will be later given to the family.
